The 2nd Annual Pediatric Critical Care Provider Course will be held at the University College Hospital, Ibadan Nigeria from June 25th-29th , 2018. The course consist of didactic lectures and simulated case scenarios complemented with practical skills acquisition drills.

Course Objectives
At the end of the course each participant will be able to:
- Assess a critically ill child with cardiac , respiratory, neurologic or multi-organ dysfunction and formulate a treatment plan
- Function as a member or leader of a multi-disciplinary pediatric critical care provider team while demonstrating situational leadership skills
- Understand need for prioritization of treatment plans, judicious use of ancillary laboratory and radiological investigations

- How to assess a critically ill child
- Dehydration, fluid, electrolytes and acid-base disorders
- Blood gas analysis
- Respiratory failure & principle of mechanical ventilation
- Cardiovascular failure & management of pediatric shock
- Acute kidney injury(AKI) in critical illness
- Pediatric traumatic head injury and management of intracranial hypertension in children
- Pediatric sedation & pain management
- Hematology-oncology emergencies in the critically ill child
- Pediatric resuscitation
